Bot Time Zone Feature

This feature is now available only for the ManyChat pages created after October 17th, 2019. It will soon be rolled out to all pages.

ManyChat has numerous fields holding date & time data sensitive to time zone value (like 'Current time' condition or 'Delivery time' in Broadcast settings). Historically all those fields were calculated and presented depending on a user's browser time zone value, which was  confusing sometimes, especially when a number of admins were working on the same Bot. In this case they saw different time zones (and date & time) values for the same field.

Now we're happy to introduce the new feature - Bot time zone. This setting will tie up all time zone sensitive fields to a static value which you can set up according to your business operating area.

After this all your date & time values will be calculated and presented according to the chosen bot time zone. For example: you set your Bot time zone to Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+00:00) and ask subscriber to input some date & time value via FB Messenger. Your subscriber from Moscow (UTC+03:00) types "17.10.2019 12:00" - received value will be transformed according to your Bot time zone and stored as "17.10.2019 09:00". The same value will be displayed in Live Chat.

Once you ad a new page to ManyChat, your Bot time zone will be set automatically according to your browser time zone. You will see the new value in Settings (as shown in the GIF below).

There are two ways to set up your Bot time zone value manually:

  1. Go to Settings → General and choose the correct value.
  2. Refresh page — you should see a modal window asking you to choose time zone for you Bot.
